Ayala Foundation was recognized for its communications initiatives at the recent Philip-pine Quill Awards, held online on March 25.

Given by IABC Philippines, the Quill Awards honor outstanding efforts in business com-munication in the country.

Ayala Foundation won an Award of Excellence for its 2018 annual report The Future of History, and two awards of merit for the Maging Magiting program and Brigada ng Ayala program.

The 2018 annual report highlighted how the foundation continued to stay true to its commitment to improving lives, through programs that enabled communities where peo-ple are productive, creative, self-reliant, and proud to be Filipino. The theme The Future of History emphasized how the foundation merges traditional and innovative processes and practices to make an impact in the lives of its program communities. This merging of old and new was best expressed by the cover image, which depicts the Ayala Museum’s Dioramas of Philippine History and efforts to make them accessible through virtual reali-ty.

The Maging Magiting program, meanwhile, is a program that advocates love of country by honoring the extraordinary heroism of ordinary Filipinos, and by promoting apprecia-tion and respect for our national symbols. In 2019, the Maging Magiting program distrib-uted more than 10,000 flags to all 17 regions of the country, reaching as far north as Ba-tanes and as far south as Tawi-Tawi. Maging Magiting is implemented in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the Department of Education, and Chooks-to-Go.

Brigada ng Ayala is the Ayala group’s conglomerate-wide response to DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela program. In 2019, Ayala Foundation worked closely with the Ayala group to field Ayala citizens to public schools nationwide, serving as volunteers who would
help clean, repair, and decorate classrooms in preparation for the opening of classes. During the year—which coincided with Ayala Corporation’s 185th anniversary—Brigada ng Ayala reached 190 schools and fielded 7,400 volunteers, generating at least 172,000 volunteer hours.

Ayala Foundation is the social development arm of the Ayala group of companies, with programs in such key areas as education, community leadership, suitable and sustaina-ble livelihood, and arts and culture. 04/09/2021 (The Lifestyle Portal)
