Michele Gumabao, Cherry Macatangay Join Adamson Lady Falcons’ Coaching staff

Adamson University (AdU) ignites its competitive spirit with the appointment of seasoned volleyball players Cherry Macatangay and Michele Gumabao as assistant coaches of the AdU Lady Falcons.
Cherry Macatangay is a multi-titled volleyball player and former member of the Adamson Lady Falcons. She has received several accolades in both local and international arenas, including the Shakey’s V League 2005-2006 MVP Award and the league’s Best Scorer of its 2004-2005 2nd Conference, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 2nd Conference. On top of this, she was also a consistent player of the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball team that was sent to compete in the Southeast 

Asian Games and brought home silver and bronze medals in 1995, 2001, 2003, and 2005.
Joining Macatangay as co-assistant coach is new Akari brand ambassador and volleyball superstar Michele Gumabao. Gumabao has received numerous achievements during her UAAP years, including the UAAP Season 75 Finals Most Valuable Player, two-time Best Blocker in UAAP Seasons 73 and 74, and three-time Champion in UAAP Seasons 73 to 75.Gumabao continued impressing when she turned pro. The captain of her Philippine Super Liga (PSL) team, Gumabao was adjudged PSL Season 2015 All-Filipino Best Opposite Spiker and 1st Best Opposite Spiker of PSL Season 2015 Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, head coach Sherwin Meneses, along with his deputies, will retain his position as he tries to steer the team to an improved finish this season.
Akari, the country’s top lighting and electrical brand, is supporting the Adamson University 

Women’s Volleyball Team, as well as the Seniors Men’s Basketball Team for the second year. This move is just one among the many initiatives they have outlined, together with the university officials, to help the team in their quest for championship.
