First, there’s the Festino Market that brings together passionate artisans, curated merchants, and talented, up-and-coming chefs who source, grow, bake, make, and create products and wares that they sell, ensuring their goods are delicious, original, and designed to truly inspire–all in a chic and tastefully set-up alfresco market that’s also pet friendly! 

Come night fall, gather around the major highlight of the “Sparkle of Christmas at Filinvest City”—the dazzling, state-of-the-art light show together with the amazing and futuristic 3D-mapped giant Christmas tree, a unique visual treat in the Metro that’s sure to delight, excite and leave viewers in absolute awe.

Then, there are the scheduled live performances and enthralling musical entertainment to be kicked-off by Christian Bautista on November 23 at 5:30 p.m. This will be followed by other weekend performances by Spongecola, Ebe Dancel, Sandwich, and many more.  

You can also take part in the arts and craft workshop sessions that add to a totally enriching and inspiring day, while other events to look forward to are the Festino Café pop-up coffee experience where you can savour third-wave brews, as well as the automotive trunk show and test drive showcasing the iconic Mini, the sporty Lotus, and endearing Vespa!

Dr. Roberto Macasaet Sr., Maxicare Healthcare Corporation’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus, has been awarded with the Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship (Large Scale) at the recently concluded Philippine Marketing Association’s 38th Agora Awards. The awards night was held at the Maynila Ballroom of the Manila Hotel last November 9, 2017.

Now on its 38th year, the Agora Awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the field of marketing in the Philippines. They have been running since 1979, and have been held by the Philippine Marketing Association, who aims to promote the science and ethics of the marketing profession, and uphold corporate social responsibility and corporate citizenship.


Dr. Macasaet has been instrumental in shaping the way the Philippine healthcare industry does business today, through his founding of one of the first Health Maintenance Organizations in the country. He is responsible for introducing healthcare services that have allowed for more flexible options for Filipinos of all income levels and employment. His achievement is truly worthy of recognition, not only showing exemplary business prowess but also a genuine love and concern for the Filipino people’s welfare.

He is also a medical professional by trade, having received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines, and having trained at Fordham University in General Surgery, Urology, and Pathology. He was head of Makati Medical Center’s Department of Urology for three decades, and is currently a member of that hospital’s Advisory Committee. He also serves as chairman of Associated Medical and Clinical Services, and was previously chairman of Fil Hispano Ceramics, Inc. 

When Dr. Macasaet founded Maxicare in 1987, the HMO industry was practically nonexistent. Today, it has evolved into the leading HMO in the country, and has the widest network of providers with over 1,000 partner hospitals and clinics, and over 56,000 affiliated physicians nationwide.

SM Supermalls marked another milestone in its pursuit to make each day better for all at the launch of SM City Trece Martires’ solar system, held in Trece Martires City, Cavite. At the ‘switching on’ ceremony, SM highlighted that the solar system rollout all over the country was only part of the many sustainability programs SM has been doing for years.



The SM City Trece Martires solar facility houses 2,914 solar panels capable of generating 0.5 megawatts of electricity, enough to fully charge 130,000 cellphones, light up 15,500 10-watt LED lamps, run 4,500 30-watt electric fans, and provide power to 300 households. The use of solar energy promotes clean air and saves the environment by helping reduce carbon footprint from electricity produced from combustion of fossil fuels.

Other sustainability programs of SM include the ‘Trash to Cash’ recycling markets in SM malls, and the integration of transport terminals in malls to mitigate traffics for cleaner air. With disaster risk reduction taking center stage on sustainability, SM has been building ‘resilient’ malls with water catchment basins to help manage flood-prone areas.

SM Prime, alongside UNISDR and ARISE Philippines, also hosts the Top Leaders Forum. The theme for 2017 is ‘Business for Resilience – Towards a Resilient Philippines.’ As a private sector conference aspiring to find concrete measures to make businesses more resilient against disasters, the Forum this year underscores invaluable collaboration between the science and technology community and the private sector towards global disaster preparedness.

SM, in partnership with Solar Philippines, first ventured into renewable energy in 2014 with the launch of its first solar system in the Philippines at SM City North EDSA – the first mall in the country to promote solar energy. Thousands of senior high school students received free eye check-up and prescription glasses during the Eye Can Succeed campaign held at the Santa Elena High School in Marikina. 

Organized by Essilor Vision Foundation, this advocacy campaign aims to help students in grades 11 and 12 achieve better vision as means to successful lives. 


The campaign also had a successful run at the Rizal High School in Pasig and High School ng University of Makati (HSU). 

Santa Elena High School was recommended by the Department of Education. Essilor Vision Foundation intends to make Eye Can Succeed campaign an annual event and will resume next year to help more Filipino students achieve better life through better sight.

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, clocked a record-breaking 2.5 million orders in 24 hours during the start of the Shopee Christmas Super Sale that was held last 11.11. 

This year’s event was a huge hit, surpassing last year’s 11.11 performance with 4.5 times the volume of orders recorded, and about 7 million items sold. The event saw a total of more than 13 million live chats, which translates into an average of over 9,000 chats buzzing simultaneously every minute, as shoppers snapped up super-sized deals and discounts from over 120,000 brands and sellers across the region. 92% of the total transactions took place on mobile as shoppers fervently browsed deals on the go. 



Across the region, shoppers were not the only happy ones on that day, as sellers also reaped great spikes in their sales, with one seller enjoying more than 6,500 times increase in order volume. Within the first 10 minutes of the sale, total traffic surged by 3 times, with the first successful order transacted at 12.00am. The momentum continued steadily through the day, with the highest number of items sold within a minute hitting an all-time high of over 12,000 at its peak. 

Interesting stats from Shopee Philippines:
• Top 3 categories were Health and Beauty, Mobile and Gadgets and Home and Living
• The brands most favoured by Health and Beauty fans were Indoplas and Human Nature
• Romoss and Nextbook were the top 3 Mobile & Gadgets brands, while Imarflex and
Lysol emerged as the top brands for Home and Living 
• Almost 9,000 pieces of Ekel Facial Masks were sold on this day

TechnoMarine’s “No Time to Wait” campaign believes these young individuals deserve acknowledgment for continuing to push themselves to higher ground and earn recognition in delivering excellence in their own careers without waiting for it to happen, and instead, make it happen through hard work, perseverance, and dedication, despite their young age.

The slogan “No Time to Wait” intends to inspire other young hopefuls to act on and work for their goals that in their own ways, can realize their dreams. Through celebrating these young achievers, TechnoMarine highlights aspiration people who created possibilities for themselves to be successful.

These young ambassadors are former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Patrick Sugui, The Voice Kids 2015 finalist Kyle Echarri, fashion designer Rosenthal Tee, and artist Andre Drilon.

23-year old Patrick Sugui is a former PBB housemate from Teen Clash 2010 edition. The hit reality show has led him to acting opportunities, helping him land roles in primetime shows like Pangako Sa’Yo and La Luna Sangre. Pat’s dream is to win an acting award someday. “I am committed to honing my craft, and right now, my focus is to improve my skills through acting workshops.”

Another young achiever is Kyle Echarri who rose to fame from placing 6th in season two of The Voice Kids Philippines 2015. The 14-year old Filipino-American singer made a name for himself after releasing his debut album titled “It’s Me, Kyle” in September last year. “This has always been my dream ever since I was a kid, so I try to give my best in everything that I do.”

Rosenthal Tee has been featured in the Mercedes Benz Stylo Spring Summer 2015 Show in Kuala Lumpur and New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2016 Show. A graduate of Fashion Design, Rosenthal has been eyeing to establish base in the country. “I’ve been saving my earnings from all the projects so that I could properly set up my business base here in the Philippines,” she said.

Completing the roster of TechnoMarine’s inspirational individuals is stylish dresser Andre Drilon. More than just the guy who wears skirts, Drilon is exploring his creative side through collaborations with different artists in the industry. “I spend a lot of time trying to conceptualize and self-analyze – think about the projects I’m doing, the ideas I want to communicate through my art,” he said.
