Since the Philippines is now one of the most vulnerable countries to climate and disaster risks as it ranked third most vulnerable country to extreme weather events in 2013 when Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) wrought havoc in the Visayas region, Filipino youth joined hands in building an advocacy to combat this climate change. The campaign is dubbed as "Not on Our Watch (NOW)" or simply #NowPH. Spearheaded by the Climate Change Commission and the National Youth Commission, this campaign will empower young people to help raise public consciousness on the science of climate change and on ways to lead a climate-resilient and climate-smart lifestyle by promoting the "15 Ways to LEDS" (15 Ways to Low Emission Development Strategies) in schools and communities.

During the GMA-7's "PaGMAmahalan" Bloggers'Conference yesterday afternoon, November 17, 2015 in Moms & Tina's Cafe, Kapuso hunk actor Dingdong Dantes together with the two members of the commission discussed everything about this campaign. Dingdong is an advocate of the said campaign against the climate change joining the other celebrities.

Part of the goals of #NowPH is to rally the Filipino youth for the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, at least 1 million signatures and expressions of support will be gathered from different parts of the Philippines through online and offline platforms including, but not limited to, an online registration portal (www.nowph.org), offline signature campaigns, media promotions, and workshops that will be presented to the President of COP 21.

The event also highlighted the importance of the 15 Ways to Low Emission Development Strategies (15 Ways to LEDS) as our weapons in fighting and protecting our environment against climate change ang global warming. To name few, the "15 Ways to LEDS" include growing of trees, reduce, reuse, and recycles, no to the use of plastic, and use of bike and carpool. The complete details of these "15 Ways to LEDS" can be found in my fitness and health blog Runner Rocky

Also during the bloggers'conference, the complete video of the #NowPH campaign featuring the top celebrities expressing their support is also shown to the bloggers. Aside from Dingdong, the celebrity ambassadors of #NowPH are Alden Richards, Kim Atienza, Kiefer Ravena, Gloc-9, Janine Gutierrez, Bianca Gonzales, and Marian Rivera.
